Apple Boosts iPhone Production in India to Beat Tariffs

Apple is taking bold steps to boost its iPhone production in India, chartering cargo flights to send around 600 tons, or 1.5 million iPhones, to the U.S. This move aims to dodge high tariffs imposed during Donald Trump's presidency. Although a 26% tariff on imports from India is currently on hold, Apple is keen to build its inventory of iPhones in one of its largest markets. The company has been ramping up production at the Foxconn plant in Chennai, even operating on Sundays to meet demand. With increasing shipments from India, Apple is solidifying its position in the competitive smartphone market.
