Infosys, one of India’s leading IT companies, has let go of 195 trainees at its Mysuru campus for not passing an internal assessment test. This decision has raised the total number of terminations to around 800 since February. Many of these trainees experienced long onboarding delays, having waited over 2.5 years for jobs. To support the affected individuals, Infosys offers upskilling programs in collaboration with UpGrad and NIIT, alongside other assistance like one month's salary, travel help, and counseling. Despite the layoffs, Infosys plans to hire 20,000 freshers this fiscal year, indicating a cautious optimism for future growth.
