Jaishankar Condemns Pakistan's Treatment of Minorities

Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently criticized Pakistan for its treatment of minorities, emphasizing that the country cannot change its "fanatical and bigoted mindset." In his address to Parliament, he highlighted ten incidents in February alone where Hindus faced violence, including forced conversions and police action during Holi celebrations. Jaishankar also noted attacks on the Sikh community and incidents involving Ahmadiyyas and Christians. He stated that India is closely monitoring these situations and raising concerns internationally, while also mentioning similar issues in Bangladesh, where there were 2,400 attacks on minorities in 2024. He concluded that India can only raise awareness but cannot change Pakistan's mindset.
