Japan Airlines Cyberattack Disrupts Flights

On Thursday morning, Japan Airlines (JAL) suffered a cyberattack that disrupted its internal and external systems, affecting both domestic and international flights. The attack began at 7:24 am local time (2224 GMT). In response, JAL temporarily shut down a malfunctioning router and suspended ticket sales for flights departing that day. This incident is part of a series of cyberattacks targeting Japanese companies, including a 2022 attack on a Toyota supplier that halted domestic production for a day, and a June 2024 attack on the video-sharing platform Niconico, which led to service suspensions.
