SBI Declares Ambani's RCom Loan Account Fraud

The State Bank of India (SBI) has marked Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications as a 'fraud' loan account, following allegations of misusing funds. This move follows a similar action by Canara Bank last year, which was stayed by the Bombay High Court. RCom, which has a staggering debt of ₹40,400 crore, is currently in insolvency proceedings. SBI claims it allowed Ambani multiple chances to respond to fraud allegations but found his replies lacking. Ambani's lawyers argue that SBI's actions violate court judgments and guidelines, claiming he was not given adequate opportunity to defend himself.
