Zerodha CEO Praises SEBI for Investor-Friendly Reforms

Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath has applauded SEBI for making the Indian stock market more investor-friendly since 2019. On social media platform X, Kamath highlighted key reforms like the segregation of client funds, quarterly bank runs on brokers, and the direct payout of securities to investor accounts. He also mentioned potential upcoming changes, such as increasing the limit for Basic Services Demat accounts from ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh, reducing the annual maintenance charge (AMC). Kamath noted that these changes simplify brokers' roles, potentially limiting them to just processing orders in the future.
