The government has approved the appointment of CS Setty as the new Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), with his tenure starting on or after August 28 for three years. Setty, who has been with SBI for 35 years, currently heads international banking, global markets, and technology.
He will succeed Dinesh Khara, who retires on August 28. Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh will take over Setty’s current role as Managing Director. Setty, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, was recommended by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB).
