For the first time in over nine months, Jeff Bezos has reclaimed the title of the world's richest person, surpassing Elon Musk, whose net worth dropped to $197.7 billion after a 7.2% decline in Tesla shares.
Bezos, the founder of Amazon, now holds a fortune of $200.3 billion. The wealth gap between the two has been narrowing, driven by opposite movements in their companies' stock prices. While Amazon shares surged, Tesla's fell due to lower shipments from its Shanghai factory. Bezos, with 9% stake in Amazon, last held the top spot in 2021.
