The government has introduced PAN 2.0, a fully digital version of the Permanent Account Number (PAN). With this update, taxpayers will automatically receive an electronic PAN (e-PAN) on their registered email ID after completing Aadhaar-based e-KYC. This initiative modernizes tax identification by replacing physical cards with digital ones, offering faster and more secure access. The e-PAN under PAN 2.0 is valid for all official purposes, making it easier for individuals to engage in financial activities while reducing paperwork and enhancing efficiency in tax compliance.
