Star Health, one of India's prominent health insurers, suffered a significant data breach that exposed the private information of over 31 million customers, including sensitive medical reports. The stolen data is readily accessible for free through chatbots on Telegram, created by a user known as "xenZen," allowing for the downloading of documents such as policy details, personal identification, and medical diagnoses. Although Telegram has removed some of the chatbots after being alerted, new ones have emerged, continuing to disseminate this compromised information.
