US Court Declares Google a Monopolist, Calls for Interoperability

A US Court has ruled Google as a monopolist, violating competition law in its dominance over general search services. The court may enforce search neutrality, requiring Google to be more transparent in its results.

However, the focus is on pushing Google, Apple, and Amazon to make their platforms interoperable with smaller rivals, a move seen as pro-competitive. While breaking up these tech giants seems unlikely, interoperability is gaining traction as a solution, similar to the EU’s Digital Markets Act of 2022.
