DMart's Profits Flat Amidst Rising Competition
Avenue Supermarts, which runs the DMart chain, reported nearly flat profits for the June quarter of FY26. Despite a 16.3% revenue increase to ₹16,359.7 crore, rising competition and margin pressures affected profitability. Net profit was ₹773 crore, slightly down from last year, with operational costs rising due to higher wages and service improvements. The retailer opened 9 new stores, bringing the total to 424, but same-store sales growth slowed to 7.1%. DMart continues to expand its reach, although the competitive landscape remains challenging for profit margins.
