Several TCS employees have received tax demand notices from the income-tax department due to alleged discrepancies in their TDS (tax deduction at source) claims. The tax demands range between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh. Tata Consultancy Services has advised its employees not to pay the amount immediately, stating that the issue may be resolved soon. The company believes the tax authorities may have made a mistake while processing the returns and expects rectification notices to be issued. Employees have been assured that the discrepancies will likely be corrected.
