Disneyland Fan Hits 15,000 Spins on Cars Ride
A Disneyland fan, Jon Alan Hale, recently celebrated a significant milestone by completing his 15,000th spin on the "Cars" ride at Disney California Adventure. This achievement is more than just a number; for Hale, it's about the joy and excitement of the ride itself. After undergoing gastric bypass and knee replacement surgeries in 2010 and 2011, he found solace and thrill in the Radiator Springs Racers ride, which debuted in 2012.
Hale quickly became captivated by the experience and began tracking each of his rides in a notebook. He would jot down details like his car's color, the lane he chose, and whether he won or lost. This meticulous tracking turned each ride into a cherished memory. “I fell in love with the ride,” he expressed, highlighting the joy it brings him.
To commemorate every hundredth ride, Hale started carrying a sign, and Disneyland staff would cheer him on, especially when he hit milestones like 1,000 rides. On the day he celebrated his 15,000th spin, he wore a “Cars” themed cap and held a sign, sharing the moment with friends who work at the park.
Hale has visited Disneyland over 1,100 times, averaging around 13 rides per visit. Thanks to the fast-moving line for single riders, he can enjoy the attraction repeatedly. “You don't know who is going to win the race,” he notes, emphasizing that each spin is unique and exciting.
Interestingly, there is no formal record for the most rides on this attraction, as both Disneyland officials and Guinness World Records do not track this information. However, for Hale, the journey has been about connections rather than records. He has formed friendships with many park employees, creating a familial atmosphere. “It's like family,” Hale said, appreciating the recognition and support he receives from them.
Hale's story reflects the essence of community and passion that can emerge from a shared love for experiences. Each ride not only signifies a number but also a celebration of friendships and joy in life. His dedication to the "Cars" ride serves as a reminder that sometimes, it’s not just about winning but about the journey and the connections we make along the way.
