Tamannaah Bhatia has recently been appointed as the brand ambassador for KSDL (Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited), an event that took place in Bengaluru. During this launch, she unveiled 57 products, including the famous Mysore Sandal Soap, which is well-loved by many. This move aims to enhance the brand's visibility and connect with consumers.

MB Patil, the Cabinet Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, explained the selection process. He mentioned that a committee, which included renowned actor Rajinikanth, was responsible for choosing Tamannaah. They considered 5-6 names, but ultimately opted for Tamannaah as some other potential candidates had previously endorsed rival products. Patil emphasized that if a celebrity has endorsed a competing product, they cannot represent KSDL.

Despite the official reasoning, the decision to choose Tamannaah has ignited a wave of criticism among Kannadigas. Many locals took to social media to express their dissatisfaction. Some questioned whether Tamannaah truly uses Mysore Sandal Soap, suggesting that her high remuneration of ₹7 crores is disconnected from the reality of local consumers. Others raised concerns about the lack of representation for Kannada actresses with pan-India appeal, pointing to popular figures like Rashmika Mandanna.
