Akshay Kumar Celebrates Niece Simar Bhatia's Film Debut
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recently celebrated his niece Simar Bhatia's entry into the film industry with her debut in Ikkis. Ikkis itself is poised to be a significant film in Bollywood, as it is a biographical war-drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal. He was the youngest Indian Army officer to be posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 Battle of Basantar. The film portrays Arun’s evolution from a cadet to a courageous officer who ultimately sacrifices his life for the nation. This narrative not only honors his heroism but also reflects on the impact of war on families.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis features Agastya Nanda in the lead role, alongside veteran actor Dharmendra, who makes his final on-screen appearance in the film. The release is scheduled for December 25, 2025, making it a poignant farewell to Dharmendra and a tribute to India’s youngest war hero.
