He recalled a time when he was "banned" by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) due to his decision to continue filming during a strike in 1987. Chunky explained that during the shooting of his film "Aag Hi Aag," the industry was struck by a significant strike, halting all productions. However, Pahlaj Nihalani, the producer, chose to proceed with filming in Bangalore and later in Ooty, which led to strict action against those involved, including Chunky. "I was a newcomer at that time, and my film hadn’t even been released yet. Banning established superstars like Dharmendra and Shatrughan was not really feasible as they were busy with multiple films," he noted.
