Delhi Capitals WPL 2026 Players List Revealed

28 Nov, 2025

The Delhi Capitals are looking to make history in the 2026 Women's Premier League (WPL) as they aim to secure their first championship title. After finishing as runners-up in all three previous seasons, they are determined to finally lift the trophy. The Capitals have retained a strong core of players, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Marizanne Kapp, Annabel Sutherland, and Niki Prasad, who are expected to lead the team this season.

With five players retained, the Capitals face the challenge of filling 13 slots in their squad due to their limited auction budget of Rs 5.70 crore. This budget is the smallest among all teams, putting pressure on the franchise to make strategic picks during the auction. The WPL 2026 auction will feature a mix of experienced and emerging talents, with 52 capped Indian players, 66 capped overseas players, and a variety of uncapped players vying for a spot in the league.

The auction is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. IST and will include a marquee set of players, generating excitement among fans and teams alike. A total of 19 players have registered in the highest base-price bracket of Rs 50 lakh, while many others fall into different pricing tiers. Such a diverse pool of talent means that teams will have numerous options to strengthen their squads.

In preparation for the auction, the Capitals have released several players, including Meg Lanning and Shikha Pandey, in hopes of creating a more balanced team. The addition of new players like Laura Wolvaardt and Sree Charani, who have already attracted attention with their performances, is expected to bolster the Capitals' chances this season.

As the auction date approaches, fans are eager to see how the Delhi Capitals will reshape their team. With a blend of experienced players and promising newcomers, the franchise is optimistic about breaking their losing streak in the finals and finally becoming champions of the WPL.
