21 Mar, 2026

Dhurandhar 2 has made a remarkable impact on the Indian box office, achieving an unprecedented ₹240 crore gross worldwide on its opening day. This phenomenal figure includes an impressive ₹145 crore earned in India, marking the largest opening ever for a Hindi film. The previous record was held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which earned ₹75 crore on its first day.

One of the standout achievements for Dhurandhar 2 is its record-breaking earnings from paid previews, collecting ₹43 crore. This surpassed the previous benchmark set by Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which earned ₹25 crore in paid previews last year. The film's opening day was nothing short of a phenomenon, as it not only broke records but also showcased the immense appetite of Indian audiences for high-quality cinema.

On its first Thursday, Dhurandhar 2 continued its momentum by earning ₹102 crore net in India, which is the highest a Bollywood film has earned in a single day. This surpassed the previous record of ₹80 crore set by Jawan on its fourth day. The film's success is indicative of a changing landscape in Bollywood, where blockbuster films are now regularly achieving extraordinary numbers.

The journey into the ₹100 crore club began with Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, which was the first Indian film to collect ₹100 crore net in India. Dhurandhar 2 made history by reaching this milestone on its opening day, becoming the first Hindi film to do so. Other films like Pathaan, Animal, and Stree 2 had taken two days to reach this mark.

Dhurandhar 2 achieved the remarkable feat of crossing ₹200 crore gross worldwide within just one day, tying it with other major hits like Baahubali 2, RRR, and Pushpa 2 for the fastest time to reach this milestone. Such achievements illustrate the growing trend of Indian films breaking global records.

On the ticket sales front, Dhurandhar 2 set a new standard by selling 25 lakh tickets across various platforms and through spot booking on its opening day. BookMyShow, India’s leading online ticketing platform, experienced a surge in ticket bookings, with 1.47 lakh tickets sold in just one hour, breaking the previous record of 1.45 lakh tickets held by Pushpa 2.

As Dhurandhar 2 continues to dominate the box office, it is clear that this film is not only a commercial success but also a significant cultural moment for Bollywood, signaling a new era of film-making that resonates deeply with audiences.
