Dhurandhar 2 Surpasses ₹674 Crore at Box Office
"Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge" has emerged as a blockbuster in the Indian film industry, achieving a remarkable ₹674 crore in box office collections within just eight days of its release. The film, which premiered on March 19, kicked off with an impressive ₹102 crore, marking one of the biggest opening days in Bollywood history.
Following its strong debut, "Dhurandhar 2" maintained its momentum with several successful days, including two additional days where it crossed the ₹100 crore mark. The film reached a historic milestone, recording the largest Monday collections ever seen in Indian cinema. However, the pace slowed slightly by Tuesday, with the collections dipping by 15% to around ₹48 crore.
Despite this dip, the film crossed the ₹600 crore mark, becoming only the fifth Bollywood film to achieve this feat. It has outperformed Vicky Kaushal’s "Chhaava," which previously held a domestic box office total of ₹601 crore. The next day, "Dhurandhar 2" eclipsed the lifetime earnings of the horror-comedy "Stree 2," which stood at ₹627 crore, and soon after surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster "Jawan," which had a domestic box office collection of ₹643 crore.
The film features a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun. Directed by the talented Aditya Dhar, this spy thriller is not just a sequel but a significant continuation of the storyline that captivated audiences in the first installment, which grossed ₹1300 crore worldwide and continues to run in theaters even three months after its release.
Industry analysts and trade pundits are optimistic about "Dhurandhar 2," believing it has the potential to break the all-time record set by "Dangal," which stands at ₹2070 crore. With its thrilling plot and engaging performances, it’s clear that the audience is eager for more from this franchise. The excitement surrounding the film is palpable, and it is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats for weeks to come.
