Dhurandhar, the much-anticipated spy thriller featuring the talented Ranveer Singh, has made a significant impact at the Indian box office. Released on December 5, the film opened to largely positive reviews, both from critics and audiences, quickly becoming one of the standout films of the year. With its gripping storyline and strong performances, it has comfortably surpassed expectations.

On its opening day, Dhurandhar earned an impressive ₹28 crore in India. The excitement didn't stop there; the film saw a remarkable 14.29% increase in earnings on Saturday, collecting ₹32 crore. By the end of its third day, the film's total earnings soared to ₹103 crore after an excellent collection of ₹43 crore on Sunday.

This impressive box office performance signifies that positive word of mouth is playing a crucial role in its success. Dhurandhar has not only surpassed the opening weekend collections of Ranveer's previous films, such as Simmba (₹75.11 crore) and Padmaavat (₹78 crore), but it has also set a new benchmark for his career.

Set against the backdrop of early 2000s Pakistan, the film follows Ranveer Singh in the role of an Indian operative tasked with infiltrating the Lyrai gang to gather critical intelligence on terrorist activities. The film’s narrative is based on true events, adding an intriguing layer of realism to the suspenseful plot. Alongside Ranveer, the cast includes notable actors like Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan, all of whom have received commendations for their performances.

Particularly, Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait and Ranveer's performance as Hamza have garnered praise from audiences. R. Madhavan’s significant physical transformation for his role has also sparked discussions among fans and critics alike.

A review from Hindustan Times highlights that "Dhurandhar works best as a character study wrapped in a sprawling espionage drama." The film's storytelling is rich and detailed, keeping viewers engaged throughout its runtime. Although some critics suggested trimming thirty minutes for a tighter narrative, it remains a sturdy watch that is captivating for action and thriller aficionados.

In conclusion, Dhurandhar stands out as a must-watch film this season, combining compelling storytelling, stellar performances, and high-octane action that resonates well with Indian audiences.
