Domestic Investors Offset Foreign Outflows in Indian Markets

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have been net sellers in Indian equity markets, offloading ₹8,616 crore worth of shares last week, bringing August’s total outflow to ₹28,977 crore.

However, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) have stepped in, purchasing ₹10,560 crore worth of shares last week and ₹34,060 crore this month, effectively balancing the outflow. Experts believe FIIs might continue selling as India remains one of the most expensive markets globally, prompting them to move funds to more affordable options despite bullish sentiment.
