Gunfire at Disha Patani's Home: Gang Claims Attack

13 Sep, 2025

In a shocking event that has raised serious security concerns, shots were fired at the residence of Bollywood actress Disha Patani in Bareilly early Friday morning. Two assailants on a motorcycle targeted her home, claiming responsibility through a Facebook post that cited a perceived disrespect towards spiritual figures as their motive. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as Disha was in Mumbai at the time of the incident, while her family, including her sister Khushboo, a former army officer, was present.

The attack took place around 4:30 am, and upon receiving a call from Disha's father, Jagdish Patani, the police quickly arrived at the scene. They recovered two empty cartridges from outside the property, and security forces have since been deployed to protect the Patani family. Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya confirmed that the case has been transferred to the crime branch for further investigation.

CCTV footage from the area is currently being analyzed, and alerts have been issued regarding the gang members involved, particularly Goldy Brar. The police have formed five teams to track down and apprehend the attackers. A formal complaint has been registered, and the investigation is progressing rapidly, with full protection being provided to the family.

In a disturbing Facebook post, the Godara-Brar gang claimed responsibility for the attack. They stated that their actions were a direct response to comments made by Disha and her sister against prominent religious figures, specifically Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. The post warned that this was just a "trailer" and promised severe consequences for any disrespect towards their religion, not only targeting the Patani family but also sending a message to the entire film industry.

The gang emphasized their commitment to defending their beliefs, stating that safeguarding their religion and society is their foremost duty. They tagged multiple criminal groups and known offenders in their post, making it clear that any insult to religious sentiments would not be tolerated.

This alarming incident underscores the growing threat of gang violence within the entertainment industry in India. It raises questions about the safety of public figures and the need for better security measures to protect individuals from such violent acts. As the investigation unfolds, the hope is that justice will be served and that the safety of families like the Patanis will be ensured.
