Hiten Tejwani, a prominent figure in the Indian television industry, recently opened up about his rigorous working conditions during the early days of his career. In a candid interview, Hiten recalled working for grueling 22-hour shifts, often leading to him sleeping on the studio floor. With over 25 years in the industry, he painted a picture of his life back then, where he would barely return home. Instead, he would come back just to freshen up before heading straight to the next shoot.
He humorously described a time when his erratic work schedule caused multiple drivers to quit, forcing him to drive himself to the sets. On one occasion, he even fell asleep at the wheel, resulting in a minor accident. This underscores the extreme demands placed on actors in the television industry, often leading to hazardous situations.
During his early years, Hiten worked on shows such as Sukanya and Ghar Ek Mandir, but his big break came with Kutumb. He fondly remembered doing 30 extra shifts in a month for the show, leading to a payment of ₹1 lakh, a significant amount at the time. Hiten also shared how the filming schedules, which were supposed to last from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., often extended until 5 a.m. the next day. This left little time for rest, and he often found himself sleeping on the set floor, with some crew members even dimming the lights to allow him a quick nap.
