Ileana D’Cruz recently opened up about a tense moment during the filming of Barfi, a film that holds a special place in her heart. Set in the picturesque locales of Darjeeling and Kolkata, Barfi, released in 2012, features a unique love story that resonated with many. However, during the shoot, Ileana faced an unexpected challenge.

In an interview with NDTV, Ileana shared her experience of working with director Anurag Basu. She recalled a particular day when she walked onto the set feeling cheerful, only to be met with Basu's bad mood. He lashed out at her for reasons she didn’t understand, leaving her feeling offended and upset.

Feeling hurt, Ileana contemplated quitting the film. She expressed to Basu that if he believed she wasn’t suitable for the role, she would leave rather than jeopardize the project. "I said, Dada, listen, if you think I'm not right for this role, I'm not going to sue you. I will leave," she recounted. This moment was incredibly emotional for her, and she ended up calling the producer to explain her feelings.

Fortunately, after a brief moment of separation, Basu returned to apologize. He told her that he had been having a bad day and assured her not to take his earlier comments personally. This heartfelt exchange helped mend their relationship, and they shared a laugh, ultimately moving past the incident.

Barfi, which also starred Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, tells a touching story centered around Barfi, a deaf-mute man, and his relationships with two women. The film has been praised for its unique storytelling and performances, making it a significant part of Ileana’s career. She was last seen in the romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar, alongside Vidya Balan and others, showcasing her versatility as an actress.

Through her experience on the Barfi set, Ileana highlighted the importance of communication and understanding in a creative environment, reminding everyone that even in the toughest moments, relationships can be repaired with kindness and empathy.
