Janhvi Kapoor's Concerns Over AI Images

16 Sep, 2025

Janhvi Kapoor has recently raised significant concerns about the proliferation of fake AI-generated images of herself circulating on social media. During the trailer launch of her upcoming film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, she candidly shared her worries about how these images can mislead the public. “When I see on social media, there are so many AI images being circulated against my will,” she said, highlighting how these misleading representations can create misconceptions among her fans.

Alongside her co-star Varun Dhawan, Janhvi emphasized the pressing need to safeguard creativity and identity in this rapidly evolving digital age. She described herself as “old-school,” advocating for the preservation of human creativity and authenticity in storytelling. Varun echoed her sentiments, stating that while technology offers numerous advantages, it also presents serious challenges that need to be addressed.

“Technology is helpful,” Varun noted, “but it has its demerits. Laws and regulations are needed to protect actors and their identity from being misused.” He pointed out that what makes actors truly irreplaceable is their unique ‘X-factor’, an essence that no algorithm or artificial intelligence can replicate. This call for protection comes at a crucial time as the Indian film industry grapples with ethical dilemmas surrounding AI.

The discussion gained momentum after the controversy surrounding Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa, which was altered using AI and re-released in Tamil with a different ending. This incident sparked widespread outrage and debates about creative control and authenticity within the film industry.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also features a talented cast including Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Akshay Oberoi, and Maniesh Paul. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a big fat Indian wedding, the trailer suggests a delightful blend of romance, humor, and family drama. Produced by renowned names such as Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar under Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment, the film is slated for release on 2 October, promising to captivate audiences with its engaging storyline.
