Muskan Verma's Journey: From Auditions to Heartland Success
Muskan Verma, a rising star in the Indian television industry, recently opened up about her journey to securing a pivotal role during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. She recalls how, while many actors were shifting back to their hometowns, she made the brave decision to stay in Mumbai. This decision proved to be crucial, as it led to her auditioning for the show 'Inspector Avinash.'
At that time, the industry was facing a lot of uncertainty, but Muskan stayed focused. She was informed about the role by a casting director who insisted she meet the director, Neerraj Pandey. Initially, she didn’t take it seriously, but after a couple of calls, she decided to give it a shot. After five rounds of auditions, she landed the role that she had aspired for. Reflecting on this experience, she describes it as a blessing in disguise, emphasizing how her perseverance during a tough phase paid off.
Muskan hails from Roorkee in Uttarakhand, a region known for its rich cultural heritage. She believes that her background from the Hindi belt has significantly contributed to her performances in heartland shows. Her father, a journalist, and her mother, a teacher, instilled in her the importance of language. Hindi comes naturally to her, but Muskan took extra steps to refine her skills by reading extensively and attending workshops.
She acknowledges that while her hometown Hindi is different, mastering the nuances of the language—like using terms such as 'bauji' and 'hum'—is essential for her roles. Muskan understands that having a strong command over Hindi not only enriches her performance but also gives confidence to the creators and makers of the shows. Her dedication to improving her language skills showcases her commitment to her craft.
