Neeraj Chopra's Journey: From Javelin to Acting?
Neeraj Chopra, India’s celebrated javelin thrower and Tokyo Olympics gold medalist, has recently shared insights into his personal and professional life. Married to Himani Mor, a former national-level tennis player, Neeraj’s marriage has brought him joy and stability, which he believes is essential for his athletic career.
In an interview with The Times of India, Neeraj expressed gratitude for the support Himani offers. He mentioned how their relationship helps him stay focused on his training and performance. Despite the attention his marriage received, Neeraj prefers to keep his personal life private, sharing only that he feels blessed to have a partner who understands his commitments.
Neeraj also addressed the acting offers he has received, stating, "Yes... but it was not difficult to say to them. I am not an actor. My strength is on the field, when I am throwing a javelin." His humility shines through as he acknowledges that fame does not automatically qualify him for a career in acting. He stressed that his primary focus remains on javelin throwing, particularly as he prepares for future competitions.
This year has been a mix of highs and lows for Neeraj. He successfully crossed the 90m mark at the Doha Diamond League and secured second place in the 2025 Diamond League final. However, he faced challenges at the World Championships, finishing in eighth place. This inconsistency has motivated him to work harder and aim for better results in the coming year.
As Neeraj continues his journey in athletics, he is determined to balance his personal life with his professional aspirations. With a strong support system and a clear focus on his goals, Neeraj Chopra is poised for continued success on the field, while also keeping the door open for new opportunities in the future.
