Randeep Hooda, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, recently shared his thoughts on the current state of action films. He believes that many modern action scenes lack emotional depth, making them feel boring to audiences. Hooda pointed out that he has seen people yawning in theaters, which reflects a disconnect between the action and the storyline. He argues that action should evoke emotions to truly engage viewers.

In his upcoming role as supercop Avinash Mishra in the much-anticipated series "Inspector Avinash," Hooda aims to bring a fresh perspective to the genre. The show is a dramatized retelling of the formation of the UP Police’s Special Task Force, which was created to apprehend notorious gangster Shriprakash Shukla. While the series is based on real events, Hooda expressed concern about the inclusion of exaggerated action sequences that are often characteristic of South Indian cinema.

Hooda mentioned that he initially hoped for a more grounded and realistic portrayal in "Inspector Avinash." He believes that when action is driven by emotion and audience investment, it resonates better and feels more impactful. This approach could redefine how action is perceived in Indian cinema, moving away from mere spectacle to a more narrative-driven experience.

The second season of "Inspector Avinash," written and directed by Neeraj Pathak, features a talented ensemble cast, including Urvashi Rautela, Amit Sial, and Shalin Bhanot. Fans of the show can look forward to its premiere on JioHotstar on May 15, three years after the first season. With its blend of real-life drama and action, the series aims to captivate audiences and invite them into the emotional journeys of its characters.

As Indian cinema evolves, Hooda's insights could encourage filmmakers to focus on storytelling and emotional engagement in action sequences, ensuring that the magic of cinema remains alive and compelling for audiences across the nation.
