SEBI Bars IndusInd Bank Officials for Insider Trading
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed a ban on five former senior officials of IndusInd Bank, including ex-MD&CEO Sumant Kathpalia, for insider trading. They allegedly sold shares based on unpublished price-sensitive information regarding accounting discrepancies that would negatively impact the bank’s share price. The officials reportedly avoided losses totaling ₹19.78 crore by trading while aware of these issues. SEBI's ongoing investigation may uncover more violations, with the former officials required to disclose their assets and financial details.
