The 2026 exit poll predictions are creating a buzz in Indian politics, especially in West Bengal. As the election approaches, the battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is heating up. Pollsters like Axis My India have projected a nail-biting contest, with TMC expected to secure between 125 and 140 seats, while the BJP could lead with 146 to 161 seats. A party needs 148 seats to form the government in the state, making this election crucial.

While some agencies predict a close fight, others have varying forecasts. For instance, P-Marq suggests a lower tally for TMC at 118-138 seats, while BJP’s projection stands between 150-175 seats. This inconsistency highlights the uncertainty that often surrounds exit polls, which have previously misjudged outcomes in states like West Bengal.

Beyond Bengal, the predictions for other states are equally intriguing. In Tamil Nadu, the Axis My India exit poll has made bold claims, suggesting that actor Vijay's party, TVK, could emerge as the single-largest party, despite the DMK alliance seen as likely to retain power. This scenario presents a unique three-cornered contest, challenging the traditional political landscape of the state.

In Kerala, the exit polls indicate a likely comeback for the United Democratic Front (UDF), with projections ranging from 70 to 90 seats. The incumbent Left Democratic Front (LDF) is expected to trail behind, suggesting a shift in voter sentiment.

Assam's exit polls present a strong advantage for the NDA, with estimates indicating they could secure between 60 to 100 seats, while the Congress-led alliance is predicted to fall significantly behind. This trend signals a dominant performance by the NDA in a state where they have been steadily gaining ground.

Similarly, the projections for Puducherry show a clear lead for the NDA, suggesting they could also secure a majority there. As these predictions unfold, they reflect the dynamic and ever-changing nature of Indian politics, reminding us that exit polls are just one piece of the puzzle.

As we await the final results, the excitement and uncertainty surrounding these predictions will keep the electorate engaged and eager to see how the political scenario will shape up across these states in the upcoming elections.
