Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has stepped forward to show his support for the flood victims in Punjab, a state currently grappling with severe flooding due to heavy rainfall. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Khan expressed his sorrow for those affected and extended his prayers to the people of Punjab. The floods have had a catastrophic impact, with reports indicating that this is the worst flooding Punjab has faced in nearly 40 years. The heavy rains in neighboring Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir have caused rivers like the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej to overflow, resulting in widespread destruction. The state has witnessed 29 deaths across 12 districts, with Pathankot being the most severely affected area.
In light of this disaster, the Bollywood community has rallied together to provide support and assistance. Many celebrities, including Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, and Bhumi Pednekar, have shown their solidarity with the flood victims. Moreover, actor Sonu Sood has launched a helpline to offer full assistance to those in need. He is well-known for his philanthropic efforts and continues to support communities during crises. Additionally, singer Diljit Dosanjh has adopted ten villages affected by the floods, while Ammy Virk pledged to rebuild 200 homes for those who lost everything.

According to government data from August 1 to September 1, approximately 2.56 lakh people have been affected by the floods, with Gurdaspur alone accounting for a staggering 1.45 lakh residents across 321 flood-hit villages.
