Shahid Kapoor's O Romeo: A Cinematic Journey Awaits
Shahid Kapoor's latest film, "O Romeo," has captured significant attention ahead of its release. With a runtime of nearly three hours, this film has received an ‘A’ certificate due to its content. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made several recommendations for the film, indicating the need for modifications in certain scenes to ensure a more audience-appropriate viewing experience.
Among the changes mandated by the CBFC, the film's team was asked to replace the word 'item' with 'Kumari' to align with cultural sensitivities. Additionally, some violent scenes were edited down, including a close-up of throat cutting, which was reduced by 20 percent. A scene depicting a woman slapping another character was also cut similarly. While violence was toned down, the romantic and intimate scenes remained untouched, maintaining the film's emotional core.
In a move towards promoting health awareness, anti-tobacco and anti-smoking messages were added to the film, and their lengths were increased, contributing an additional minute and 57 seconds to the overall runtime. The film received its censor certificate on February 11, officially marking it as one of the longest films in Shahid Kapoor's career, with a total length of 178.41 minutes.
Directed by the esteemed Vishal Bhardwaj, "O Romeo" boasts a stellar cast, including Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Nana Patekar, among others. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film is set to release on February 13, just in time for Valentine's Week, making it a perfect option for couples looking to enjoy a cinematic experience together.
This film marks Shahid's fourth A-rated project, following the success of "Kaminey," "Udta Punjab," and "Kabir Singh."
