The Indian stock market ended Monday’s trading session on a strong note as benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 recorded gains of more than one percent. The rally was mainly supported by strong buying in banking, auto, and FMCG stocks. The BSE Sensex climbed 939 points or 1.26 percent to close at 75,503, while the Nifty 50 rose 258 points or 1.11 percent to settle at 23,409. During intraday trading, the Sensex touched a high of 75,805 and the Nifty reached 23,502, reflecting strong market momentum. However, global uncertainties continue to influence investor sentiment. Crude oil prices remain above $105 per barrel as tensions in the Middle East escalate following attacks on energy infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz. The ongoing US-Iran conflict has entered its third week, raising concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies. US President Donald Trump indicated that the United States is in communication with Iran but remains uncertain about Tehran’s willingness to negotiate. Meanwhile, global markets showed mixed trends, with some Asian markets gaining while others declined slightly. Precious metals also witnessed weakness as MCX silver dropped to ₹2,52,700 per kilogram and MCX gold fell to ₹1,56,000 per 10 grams. Market experts believe geopolitical tensions and oil price movements will continue to influence global markets and investor sentiment in the coming sessions.
