Sunny Deol's Inspiring Comeback in Bollywood

24 Feb, 2026

Farah Khan, a well-known filmmaker and choreographer, recently shared her thoughts on the inspiring comebacks of Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Akshaye Khanna during a vlog with actor Ranveer Singh. She reflected on her film 'Tees Maar Khan,' which had a lukewarm response when it was released. Farah expressed her disappointment, remembering how the film received harsh criticism despite her belief that it was genuinely funny.

Farah recalled, “When Tees Maar Khan released, I was completely torn apart by the criticism. I kept thinking, how could I have gone so wrong, because I genuinely found the film very funny. Now I feel, wow. With Akshaye Khanna’s resurgence, people are quoting it to me again.” This statement highlights how perceptions can change over time, especially in the dynamic world of cinema.

Sunny Deol has made a remarkable return to the big screen with his recent blockbuster, 'Gadar 2,' which took the box office by storm, grossing ₹686 crore worldwide. This film not only marked his comeback but also reignited the audience's love for his work. Following this success, he has been involved in several projects, including 'Jaat' and 'Border 2,' both of which have been well-received.

Looking ahead, Sunny is eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Gabru,' directed by Shashank Udapurkar. This film is produced by Vishal Rana and Om Chhangani and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 8, 2026. In addition to 'Gabru,' Sunny and Akshaye Khanna have a courtroom drama titled 'Ikka' in the pipeline. While the release date for 'Ikka' has not yet been announced, it is set to premiere on Netflix, adding to the excitement surrounding their comeback.

The resurgence of these actors is a reminder of how talent can endure and thrive, even after facing setbacks. Fans are eager to see what more these stars will bring to the screen in the coming years, as Bollywood continues to evolve and embrace new storytelling styles.
