Thamma, featuring the talented duo of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, has taken the Indian box office by storm. Released on October 21, this horror-comedy film has grossed an impressive ₹94 crore in its first week, solidifying its place in the popular Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, contributing to its remarkable success.

The film had a robust opening, earning ₹24 crore on its first day. Following this, it maintained strong momentum throughout the week, collecting ₹18.6 crore on Wednesday, ₹13 crore on Thursday, and ₹10 crore on Friday. Over the weekend, Thamma continued its winning streak, adding ₹13.1 crore on Saturday and ₹12.6 crore on Sunday, resulting in a total of ₹91.3 crore net collection in India by the end of its sixth day. Thamma revolves around the character Alok, portrayed by Ayushmann, who embarks on a hiking trip where he encounters a mysterious woman named Tadaka, played by Rashmika. As the story unfolds, Alok discovers that Tadaka is not what she seems—she is a betal, a vampiric creature, adding layers of intrigue and humor to the film's narrative.

The film's success is not just a win for its cast but also for the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which has previously seen hits like Stree and Bhediya. Following Thamma, the universe is set to expand with Shakti Shalini, starring Aneet Padda. With its engaging storyline and strong performances, Thamma has captured the audience's attention, and many are eager to see how it performs in the coming weeks.
