Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera: Box Office Blues
"Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri," featuring popular actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, is currently facing significant challenges at the Indian box office. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film's performance has been disappointing, earning just over ₹1 crore on its first Monday. This follows a lackluster opening weekend, with total earnings of ₹25.25 crore so far.
The film's box office journey began on a moderate note, with earnings of ₹7.75 crore on Day 1, ₹5.25 crore on Day 2, ₹5.5 crore on Day 3, and ₹5 crore on Day 4. However, the first Monday saw a sharp decline in collections, reflecting a struggling audience reception. The overall occupancy rate for Hindi screenings was only 11.54% on that day.
Critics have been vocal about the film's shortcomings. A review by Hindustan Times pointed out that the music by Vishal-Sheykhar fails to provide the necessary momentum for the film. The review describes the film as a "scenic postcard with no message written on the back," indicating that while it may have appealing visuals, it lacks a compelling narrative. Viewers might find themselves longing for the love and excitement that the title suggests.
Despite these challenges, Kartik Aaryan expressed his gratitude for being part of this project. He praised the writing of Karan Shrikant Sharma and the direction of Sameer Vidwans, believing that the story has potential to resonate well with audiences. Kartik emphasized the rarity of filmmakers who can convey meaningful messages in an entertaining, non-preachy manner, particularly in romantic films.
The film marks a reunion between Kartik and Ananya, who previously worked together in the 2019 hit "Pati Patni Aur Woh." In addition to the lead pair, "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri" also features notable actors Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles. Released in theatres on December 25, the film has been produced by Karan Johar under his banner, Dharma Productions.
