13 Jan, 2026

Actor Vicky Kaushal is relishing the joys of fatherhood after welcoming his baby boy with wife Katrina Kaif. As a proud new father, he has thoughtfully chosen a film from his career that he hopes to share with his son when he’s older. During an event in Delhi, Vicky was awarded the Actor of the Year at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2025, where he also opened up about his experiences as a father.

In a candid interview, Vicky was asked which film he would want his son to watch first. He replied, “I would like him to watch my first film, Masaan. It's a nice film. I know it's a hard film to watch, so maybe later on, not too early on in his life.” Vicky's debut film, "Masaan," is a poignant social drama that explores deep themes of life and death, making it a significant choice for his son's viewing when the time is right.

The film tells the story of Deepak Kumar, a civil engineering student who grapples with societal issues and the stigma surrounding pre-marital relations. Vicky's portrayal in "Masaan" marked his rise to fame, establishing him as a talented actor capable of handling complex roles.

During the interview, Vicky also addressed concerns regarding his son’s privacy, especially in the public eye. He stated, “The thing you fear the most is the thing you attract the most…. Guarding my privacy doesn't come with the emotion of fear.” He emphasized that while they value their privacy, they are aware that some elements may slip into the limelight, and they are prepared to handle it.

Vicky and Katrina welcomed their baby boy in November, sharing their joy with fans through a heartfelt announcement. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Rajasthan in December 2021, and this new chapter of parenthood seems to be a cherished blessing for them.

On the professional front, Vicky Kaushal recently starred in "Chhaava," which has become one of the highest-grossing films of 2025, earning ₹807 crore globally. He is set to appear next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s "Love & War," alongside co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, further showcasing his versatility and talent in the Indian film industry.
