120 Bahadur Tax-Free in Delhi: Ticket Prices Drop!

Farhan Akhtar's war movie, 120 Bahadur, has made headlines by being declared tax-free in Delhi as of November 28. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced this initiative, emphasizing the film's tribute to the extraordinary bravery of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who displayed remarkable courage during the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

The film showcases the heroic leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose actions and sacrifice symbolize courage in India's military history. CM Gupta noted that this tax-free status is a special mark of respect to the valiant soldiers who fought for the nation.

Farhan Akhtar had previously expressed his hope for the film to be made tax-free, believing it would help reach a wider audience. He mentioned, “Making it tax-free will definitely benefit the story going out far and wide.” His comments came during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), where he highlighted the film's significant message.

Before being granted tax-free status, tickets for 120 Bahadur were priced at ₹410 for prime rows. From November 28 onwards, the ticket prices will decrease, making it more affordable for viewers. For instance, classic row tickets will now cost around ₹305, while prime row tickets will be priced at approximately ₹347. This reduction is due to the 18% GST that movie tickets attract.

Directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai, 120 Bahadur features Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh and follows the regiment's valor during a critical moment in India's military history, where a small group of 120 soldiers held their ground against 3,000 Chinese troops. The film also stars Raashi Khanna as Shagun Kanwar, the wife of Major Singh.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 120 Bahadur has already collected ₹15 crore at the Indian box office within just seven days of its release. The film's success, along with its new tax-free status, is expected to draw even more audience members, allowing the story of these brave soldiers to resonate with a larger crowd.
