4% DA Hike Announced for Government Employees

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees, raising it from 34% to 38% starting December 1. The move benefits 3.25 lakh employees and 3.50 lakh pensioners in the state.

Mann assured that the remaining 8% of DA would also be granted. The decision was made after discussions with the Punjab State Ministerial Service Union.

The state government will address the demand for the restoration of the old pension scheme with the Union government. Employees had also sought the release of pending 12% DA and regularization of contractual employees.
