Adani in Talks to Acquire Reliance Power's 600 MW Butibori Plant for ₹2,400-3,000 Crore

Adani Power is negotiating with CFM Asset Reconstruction Co. to acquire the 600 MW Butibori thermal power plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra, previously owned by Reliance Power's subsidiary, Vidarbha Industries Power. The deal is expected to be valued between ₹2,400-3,000 crore, significantly lower than its earlier ₹6,000 crore due to halted production. The acquisition aligns with Adani's strategy to boost its thermal power capacity, leveraging growing electricity demand in India. The purchase will be funded through Adani's internal resources, giving the group a competitive edge in Maharashtra's power market.
