Air India has placed an order for 100 Airbus jets, adding to its record-breaking $70 billion deal for 470 aircraft in 2023.
This brings the total order to 570 planes, including 10 wide-body A350s and 90 narrow-body A320 family jets. Since its acquisition by the Tata group in 2022, Air India has focused on fleet expansion to establish itself as a global airline. With India’s booming aviation market and growing passenger demand, the new jets are critical to modernizing Air India and supporting its no-frills arm, Air India Express.
