Bharti Airtel launched an AI-powered spam detection tool that identified 115 million spam calls and 3.6 million spam messages within the first day.
Available to over 387 million smartphone users, the tool alerts customers in real time about suspected spam without needing a separate app. Airtel plans to extend this service to feature phones soon. The tool, a rival to Truecaller, shares data with key regulators like TRAI and RBI to combat scams. TRAI is also enforcing stricter rules to curb spam by blocking unregistered links and apps in messages.
