Amazon Races to Enter Quick Commerce Market with 'Tez' by December

Amazon India is fast-tracking its entry into the quick commerce market with a new service, codenamed "Tez," targeting groceries and daily essentials.

Originally planned for 2025, the launch is now expected by late December or early next year. With this move, Amazon aims to challenge Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket, which collectively generate $5.5-6 billion in monthly gross sales. Amazon is setting up dark stores, optimizing logistics, and hiring talent to ensure efficient delivery. A key strategy review is scheduled for early December, signaling Amazon's intent to dominate this growing market.
