Ambani's AI Vision to Transform Reliance Industries

Mukesh Ambani has unveiled the “Reliance AI Manifesto,” marking a bold step toward transforming Reliance Industries into an AI-native deep-tech company. He believes that artificial intelligence is one of the most significant technological advancements in human history, with the potential to drastically impact India’s economy and society. In an address to over six lakh employees, he highlighted the untapped possibilities of AI, stating that we have only seen “the tip of the iceberg.”

The manifesto sets ambitious goals, aiming for a ten-fold improvement in work quality and societal outcomes. Ambani emphasized the importance of making AI affordable for every Indian, enabling technological advancements to benefit all aspects of life in India. This initiative is not merely about replacing human labor but enhancing the capabilities of the workforce and unleashing collective potential.

The draft of the manifesto is divided into two sections. The first part focuses on integrating AI into internal operations at Reliance. It proposes restructuring workflows to improve efficiency and decision-making. By embedding AI in processes like procure-to-pay and order-to-cash, Reliance aims to reduce manual efforts and enhance overall performance.

To support this transformation, a 12-layer Digital Functional Core will be established, where data serves as the foundation and AI acts as an acceleration layer. Ambani has stressed that governance, accountability, and compliance are critical and that the speed of innovation should never compromise safety or integrity.

The second part of the manifesto seeks to explore the potential of AI across various sectors within Reliance, including telecommunications, retail, energy, and financial services. Ambani also proposed the development of indigenous AI hardware and robotic systems to bolster India's technological self-reliance.

Employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas by January 26, after which the final manifesto will be crafted. Ambani concluded by stating that this manifesto represents a shared commitment to building a new Reliance and realizing the vision of a progressive India.
