This involves a series of malicious apps that falsely promise access to call logs and messages for a fee. ESET found 28 different CallPhantom apps on the Google Play Store, collectively downloaded over 7.3 million times. The apps have since been reported and removed by Google, raising questions about the effectiveness of Play Store filters.
