Apple Shifts iPhone Production to India – Big News!
Apple CEO Tim Cook has revealed that a significant portion of iPhones sold in the US will soon be exported from India. This shift is partly due to lower tariff rates in India and a pause in US retaliatory tariffs. India has become a more cost-effective production hub for Apple, which produced iPhones worth $22 billion last fiscal year, contributing around 20% to its global output. The company's manufacturing efforts in India have ramped up since 2020, thanks to government incentives. However, Apple still relies on many suppliers from China, although the number of Indian suppliers is gradually increasing, reflecting a slow move towards local production.
