Apple Tackles ₹21,000 Crore App Store Fraud

Apple has reported a significant crackdown on app fraud, managing to block scams worth over ₹21,000 crore last year. The company noted that scammers are employing advanced techniques, including bot networks and artificial intelligence, to create fake reviews, manipulate app rankings, and push fraudulent applications onto unsuspecting users.

In 2025, Apple’s App Store review team processed more than 1.3 billion ratings and reviews. Out of these, a staggering 195 million fraudulent ratings and reviews were blocked before they could be seen by the public.
