Bangladesh Pays $800 Million to Adani Power After Major Power Cut Move

Bangladesh has paid over $800 million to Adani Power just days before the November 7 payment deadline. Adani Power recently cut electricity exports to Bangladesh by more than half, reducing supply from 1,400 MW to around 700-800 MW from its 1,600 MW Godda plant in Jharkhand, India. The cutback was triggered by delayed payments and ongoing issues with coal imports essential for power generation, according to sources. Bangladeshi government officials confirmed the payment and spoke anonymously, sharing the urgency behind the expedited funds transfer.
