Bharti Airtel is in advanced talks with Tata Group to buy Tata Play, India's biggest direct-to-home (DTH) provider.
This deal could help Airtel boost its digital TV offerings and compete better in a market where DTH services are declining due to the rise of OTT platforms like Netflix and free-to-air options. Tata Play, though a market leader, has been struggling with losses. Airtel aims to strengthen its non-mobile revenues through bundled services, including broadband and DTH.
